Exploring Housing Options: An Overview for Adults Served by Regional Centers

May 21 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Regional centers offer a variety of housing options for regional center clients – but understanding what they are, how they work, and how to access them can feel overwhelming.

Please join Jennifer Lucas, Manager of the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) Central Coast Office and Renee Bauer, Manager of SCDD’s North State Office, as they provide a clear, practical overview of the regional center’s housing/living support options. Discussion topics include:
– How housing needs are identified in the Individual Program Plan (IPP)
– The range of regional center housing supports, from what’s available if the individual is living with their parents to what’s available if the individual is living on their own, with roommates, or in a licensed residential home
– How regional centers can support independent living with Individual Living Skills (ILS) and Supported Living Services (SLS)
– How new programs like Coordinated Family Support Services can help

This session is ideal for families, who are navigating – or thinking about investigating – California’s complex disability and housing systems. Attendees will leave with practical next steps and a clearer understanding of what regional center supports are available and how to access them.
